The Diary of Anne Frank
On Anne Franks 13th birthday, her parents got her a red and white checkered journal. She loved to write it made her feel safe. In her journal, she wrote stories about her life and those around her. When her and her family went into hiding from the Nazis, Anne relied on her writing to keep her busy and gave her a sense of security. As time went on, Anne heard from a British radio that it was encouraged to write about one’s personal experiences during the war as it could be published after the war was over. This prompted Anne to rewrite her diary, but before she could finish it, she was captured by the Nazis.
